Madagascar

Communication of 25.V.2010:

Cessation of Telegram Service

The Office Malagasy d’Etudes et de Régulation des Télécommunications (OMERT ), announces that the national telegram service to and from Madagascar is no longer provided.

Furthermore, owing to the closure of the national and international telegram service in Madagascar, the telegram destination indicator “MG” allocated to Madagascar and the office codes "MGTE/MGTA/MGTR/MGTX”, used in the telegram retransmission system, have been deleted.

The List of Telegram Destination Indicators, published in accordance with ITU-T Recommendation F.32, will be updated accordingly*.

Yemen

Communication of 18.V.2010:*

Changes in the Telegram Service

TELEYEMEN of Yemen, Sana’a, announces that with effect from 19 May 2010 all international telegrams to and from Yemen  must be routed through Unitel.  The telegram destination indicator YESA allocated to Yemen remains in force and must be used for all telegrams to Yemen. This applies for both ITA2 and APU80 telegrams.

Responsibility for international rates and settlements will reside with Unitel which will handle directly all accounting and settlements relating to telegram traffic to and from Yemen from the above date.   Telecommunication operators are therefore kindly requested to contact Unitel directly as shown below to arrange for the provision of access and negotiate termination rates to apply.
